Mutant Jazz celebrates the emerging talent from Liverpool’s live Jazz Spectrum, exposing them to new audiences from the age of 14 years and upwards.
Mutant Jazz #8 will feature:
Tian Qiyi – Anglo-Chinese psych dub jazz. Liverpool is home to the oldest Chinese community in Europe, with the Pagoda Arts centre at its core. John Tian Qi Wardle and Charlie Tian Yi Wardle are international talents blending traditional Chinese music with contemporary genres like electric jazz, reggae, and electronic music. Their Chinese and British heritage shapes a unique musical identity that seamlessly bridges East and West, offering a rich, cross-cultural experience. It’s not surprising as their dad is a British post-punk legend and their mum is the force behind Europe’s largest Chinese youth orchestra!
Bad.Glitches – a project that pulls together musical influences from computer games and turns them into a whole new jazz genre!
MC Motormouf is in the house to heard the cats and build the vibe.
DJ Copious Notes will be spinning jazzy vinyl all night.
